Forum Registration & Spam

Postby Razorbolt » Tue Jun 02, 2009 10:17 am

Hi All,

Looks like the spammers are out in force again and I cannot keep up with it. While I look for another solution to stop the them we will be hand vetting registrations. What does this mean, not much to anyone already on the forums. If you are wanting to join the forums, register as you normally would and email webmaster@supanova.com.au with your username and I will activate you.

Apparently this announcement is no longer applicable since all I had to do was activate my own email address to prove it was real. That said, this whole forum seems dead which is quite surprising considering what a large event Supanova is. Although I'm a newbie I've attended Supanova four years in a row and I really think we should get this up and running again! :D

@Kitahachi

I like that you have been spamming in every topic, even ones that have long been put to rest, long after their respective events, to post more spam in a topic called "Forum Registration & Spam", which is about the prevention of spam in these forums.

Good work. Your going to fit in very well in these forums and the events that Supanova organises.

In lieu of reporting two pages worth of spam threads post by post, there seems to have been a major spam infestation in the Cosplay forum. Probably elsewhere also. FYI........

How come I can't post on any of the topics? It says that they need to be approved by moderators, but how long does it take? I want to sign up for the Brisbane Cosplay Chess, but I can't talk to anyone because my posts aren't being approved and I can't send a pm message because I need to be more active. How can I be more active if my posts aren't being approved? I signed up to the forum specifically to join the chess. I'm really unhappy, and no one is helping me :(
