romance manga Vs violence manga

I have to admit am all over shoujo but I really hate about 50% of the heroines. I just love new spins on cliches. However some shoujo takes femininity too far. Its one thing to be a happily balanced and wispy protaganist but its another one to be a sort of indecisive, manic depressive who cries too much. That being said many things are overdone just some work better than others.

I like both but when I hear 'violent' I think of Berserk, Hellsing etc... (Both of which I really like) although I have stuff like Chobits, Love Hina and Tramps Like Us (Kimi wa Pet) in my collection.

I can really go either way as long as the art and the story is well done.

I voted Violence but I don't really think you can compare the two. No genre is better than another, you can like one more than another though so the topic is fair.

Even so, I appreciate both action manga and romance. My favourite manga of all time is Fruits Basket, a Comedy Romance, and yet in terms of genres I much prefer reading action manga/violence. I don't think I really can say I like one more than another. Both can easily be done badly. Romance becomes too cliché or Violence becomes too action-packed and loses any form of story. When they're done well they're usually brilliant.
