These 2 are fairly cheap but they are at least a 20 min walk to Olympic Park.
Gladesville is a little to far from there and there aren't any trains its a main road for buses. The Ryde one i ride past everyday its a little closer but yet again not a lot of transport getting down to Oylimpic park from Ryde on its about a 15 min drive if that, it's a straight shot up victoria road then right on to Devon Street and you follow the signs.
Honestly you'd want something on the train line so much easier then trying to work out sydney buses they are a nightmare, although West Ryde train station is down the road.
They are the ones that I just searched for one of my friends who got in pretty late. I agree it is a long way to walk and in an awkward place and probably only good if you have a car but I thought I might just put it there just in case someone got desperate.
