Cosplay Questions, Advice and F.A.Q

Postby Meguzu » Thu Jul 16, 2009 10:58 pm

This thread was made because it can get annoying having 10000x topics created just to ask a questions.
Hopefully instead of creating a new topic maybe people will ask their questions here or look for previous answers.
Also it was made to ask opinions on cosplays from pros or people with a good eye for detail.

I'll get the ball rolling shall I?
I'm planning a cosplay of Stork:

But I'm having issues choosing the right wig since I suck at styling and there are no good photos of just his hair.
I've narrowed it down to these ones:
A Sasuke wig:
http://www.cosplayfu.com/product/Sasuke ... rom+Naruto
A Nozomu wig:
http://www.cosplayfu.com/product/Nozomu ... bou-Sensei
OR This guy:
http://www.cosplayfu.com/product/Allelu ... +Gundam+00

Hope you can help.

I think the Nozomu wig would be the best one out of those three

Hai mods, sticky this please.

I'd get the Nozomu wig, and then make it bit choppier with some hairspray.

I'm curious about how you're going to do his feet.

I know in that picture he's got 'normal' feet with shoes(?) on, but in SH, doesn't he have funky looking feet?
Or are you going to go by that picture?

-excuse the double post,I guess not many people are thinking about cosplay right now :? -
So, I have another question!
What is a good Cosplay Camera?
My Kodak Easy Share C813 is er...not doing the trick. That is it sucks, majorly.
Can anyone reccomend a good brand of camera? One that looks all shiny and pro unlike mine that looks like I've been taking pictures underwater.

I don't know about the camera,
but perhaps you could try modifying a crappy pair of ...shoes for Stork's feet? You'd probably have to find some with no lace and stuff.
I wouldn't have a clue as to what material you could you use to make the toes, since it'd be easy to snap the toes while walking.

:I Now I have a very stupid question for something I really shouldn't be worrying about until a few years.
And it's also restricted to Perth people.
I'd like to find [apologies for the brain fart; I can't remember nouns right now.] someone who would be able make a wooden replica of an electric violin?
Because I'm not going to frickin' buy a $2500+ USD violin which the company does not sell it's instruments in Australia.
You know? Someone who makes things out of wood.
I'm tired.

I would have my dad do it, but I'd feel guilty since it wouldn't be something that could be whipped together in a day.
I have no wood work skills anyway.

I'll probably scolded by someone for thinking too far ahead.

I also had no idea whether to post this here on in the Perth board.

My mother bought my gran a camera the other day and it seems pretty damn good although a little complicated...
it's seems like he wears a weird sock/sandal thing so I could make a sock type thing and attach toes to it. :D I could make maybe clip on ones since that might make them harder to take off.
